Soner Euro Nitro Cup - Spain

In 2016, Lowrance gave me the opportunity to compete in the Soner Euro Nitro Cup, which is the biggest bass fishing championship in Europe. I flew into Madrid and drove 3 hours through olive trees to a desert lake that I probably couldn’t pronounce the name of. Each night, the angler I was partnered with (an angler from Portugal named Joaquim Moio - pictured above) and a photographer I made friends with named Ghindaoanu (from Romania) went to the only local place around that had food, which was a little bar. It was definitely different for me. They didn't eat until late, like 10:00 at night, and they served us several different little plates of food (which I now know is tapas style) that they just brought out to our table without us ordering and with no description or menu. I tried a couple things but ultimately, I lived off bread and beer for the next 4 days. Joaquim and I did not get even close to winning but we caught the heck out of some bass.
